Bury Switch On

Well as you can see I only took 2 pictures, my camera is not good for taking outside dark photos, Julio did a better job with his mobile. The above photo is in the Traverse near the art gallery.
This one on the Angel Hill with the Abbey Gate behind.

ThanksGiving Card

So this afternoon I decided to make a card for a friend who has invited us for Thanksgiving, it is based on the 3 panel card that I posted earlier.

The centre verse is printed on stamped paper that I did, then framed using nestibilties and fall rub on's around the frame, the day of thanks is a sticker and I used stamps for the pumpkins and chalked them in.

The front panel has a rub on and ribbon in fall colours, I have inked all 3 panels, bit hard to see here.

Christmas Banner

Here is a close up, I used a snowflake punch and mini gems for the centre, the letter I made from a sissiz die and my machine, if you don't have one you could use rub on's or buy precut letters from your craft store, even print from the PC. The edges are distessed with ink, I used a brown and red, trying to get the colour to match the print on the paper.

I used card and DP but I think I could have gotton away with just the double sided paper as its thick enough, I put some eylets in to put the ribbon on, 3 colours, red, green and white, the green and red are tied onto the white first then tie the white onto the brad. I did have the think as one whole long panel but later decided to seperate it, one of those personal choice type things

Ingredients;
2to3 sheets of A4 card, + spare odd bits for snowflakes
1 12x12 DP, if using double sided strong paper you may not need the card
Letters
Ribbon, eyelets, gems, ink, snowflake punch, glue pen, double sided tape

Well I finaley finished one project for Christmas, this one I will be teaching this month at church, here is the link for the basic part of the project. http://www.stamphappy-tammy.blogspot.com/ On Tammy side menu (your left hand side)look for Stamp Simply Challenge click on that then look for Stamp Simply # 111 3 Panel Accordian, here you will get a link to Sharon for the 3 panel http://www.notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ , also Tammy gives a link to her long panel version for a Thanksgiving version. This is where I got my idea from, there is alot you can do with these panels for differant occasions.

Home made Jewelery

Here are the home made jewelery I have made for Christmas, the top 3 are for presents, the angel earrings are a present also, the other earrings are for me and the broach.
the broach is something I hope to teach as a project, Its called pin charming, a special type of safety pin, those of you in the USA can get these more easily than the UK, the broach is titled Colours of Christmas:

Gold: reminds me of heaven, where there is no sin, death, sickness or tears.

Black :reminds me of sin.

Red: reminds me of the blood of Jesus, His death and Resurrection.

White: (clear crystal),because Jesus blood cleanses us of our sins and makes our hearts clean and pure.

Green: is new life when our hearts have Jesus and is filled with the Holy Spirit.

If I get to do the project it will be different to mine as I used swarovski crystals and wires, the other will just be the colour beads slipped onto the pin with me telling the guest about the colours while sharing the Gospel.

Here is a picture of my quilt I bought for £34 at Risby Barns, you wont be able to see the full size as it is a double quilt, so I plan on keeping it on the sofa for those cold evenings which are now coming up.

Home Made Earings

Tried something new this week, I wanted to learn how to make earrings so I went down to Your Touch of Craft in town, I had a one on one lesson to learn this so it was a good productive 2 hours spent, so I bought the kit and finished these at home, the large stone at the bottom is a swarvoski Chrystal. These will be a Christmas present for a family member and I have to do some more and hopefully make a matching bracelet.

Embossed Christmas Cards

This week I have made more Christmas cards but not for any challenges, these will be sent to people I know, I did a whole bunch. The snowmen one I have used outline peel offs and sukura pens, I might do some more of these as I like the idea of stained glass window effect.

These next three are two stamps that I got from Penny Black. I have used clear embossing ink and sprinkled with glitter powder all onto silver, gold or blue card, I then used my heat gun to melt the glitter. The colour baubles are made by Sticklers glitter glue and I have used peel offs for the frame edge and sayings.

This stamp is called Majestic.

This stamp is Adornment.
For Embossing you will need;
Your Stamp
Clear Embossing Ink
Embossing Powder
Card
Embellishments
Heat Gun
If stamping on shiny card you will need a old dryer sheet or cotton wool and talc powder to just rub over the card, this helps to stop static other wise you will get glitter sticking in places you don't want.

Christmas cards

Here are 2 cards I made from some new stamps that I bought last month, I have used promarker pens, on the blue one I have used flower soft for fresh snow and the other is a glitter glue that makes it look frosty. I now have 3 days to do the project tuesday challenge, I tell ya some of these bloggers seem to whip up something in a day. See you all later.

Creata licious Challenge #2

This challenge was for the colours which are green, pink and burgandy, so I combined the challenge with the Magnolia one. And as you can see its a Christmas one.

Magnolia Challenge #22

Candle and Scarf

I bought this candle today along side the one I got for a friend, this one is called "Be Thankful" as soon as I smelt it I thought of the American Thanksgiving and decided to get it. When I got to the checkout I got talking to the owner, she was telling me that she did not think the fragrance would have been a seller as we don't celebrate thanksgiving and that is what the candle was for, as it turns out it has been a big seller this month. And it smells good. I did over hear that she would not be getting any Halloween candles, as Yankee Candles does not think there is a market in Europe, praise God for that, I pray the candles shop owner gets blessed some other way. I get my candles from Buy the Light in the Cornhill Walk Shopping Centre in Bury St Edmunds, I hope some of you get to visit the store, they are great staff and excellent customer service, they also do a points card you get a stamp for every £10 you spend and when the card is full you can get some free candles or money off the big jar candles. Well worth the visit. I shall be going back in the next few months to get my Christmas candles.

This is a scarf that only took 2 days to do, its a pompom scarf and will be a gift for one of my family members, I am hoping to get some more wool to make more but Bury has none, apparently its hard to come by so I may have to order on line, the wool is very popular as it is the latest for this years scarf fashion.

Project Tuesday/ flower box

Here is my attempt at another challenge that a friend of mine had on her blog, it came just in time as I have a birthday party to go to this weekend, so she has some nice Thornton's choccy bars and I got her a Yankee Candle called Cinnamon and sugar, hope she likes them.
Wont be able to enter the challenge though as I missed the deadline.

A new Challenge

Hi all my friend Suzie showed a new blog she found with a challege of projects to do, so I have put the blinkie at the side paned. It is called Project Tuesaday

Friday 11 September 2009

Hi Debbie and Lisa, I hope you like these cards, I am still working on 2 more more Christmas cards that are not challenges, here is a photo of some of the nice things I have bought lately.
There on the lower right corner are some clear stamps that I am working on, the paper you see with different blocks are the new Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly elements that you could cut out to make cards with, they look very 50s.
Martha Stewart punches are great but expensive, the perma pens are like copic markers. the flower soft is in the small tub that you see, that can last for a long time, and there is my recent nesties. If you click on the photos you should be able to get a bigger picture.
This weekend is womens retreat, I think I would rather go on a craft retreat where there is no cooking or cleaning to do, just none stop crafting.

Christmas Tree Decoration #9

Here is this weeks challenge for a tree decoration, I used a template from Brenda Quintana.com
so its not something I came up for myself, its a triangle box that you can fill with small chocolates, I plan to to do this at Christmas to coordinate with my tree and not buy the novelty sweets from the shops, as I have 3 teenagers I thought I would do something more grown up.

Materials are;
thick pattern paper with gold snowflakes on.
snowflake embellishment.
gold gel pen for centre of snowflakes.
gold tie for putting on tree
Best Wishes foil sticker

Let it Snow

It's week 3 of Winter Wonderland and I have finely manged to do a card, I used ;
Thomas Kinkade stamp
Versa fine ink
Sukura pens
Glitter glue
Snowflake rub on's
Ribbon
Blue card

Here is a close up of the cottage with snow and the windows in light. You can just about make out the snow in the sky coming down, a thin plume of smoke coming out of the chimney making it cozy for the inhabitants unside, an open fire sound great.

My quilt blocks

This one is called Maple Leaf which is hand stitched.
A Trip Around the World, the centre square represents the world, this one was machine stitched.

This one is also machine stitched and is called Rail Fence.

This one is hand stitched and is called Tumbling Blocks.
This week I bought 3 more fabrics as I felt the quilt will need more colour, the colours will make it more of a country colour mix.
Today I will rest from quilting and do some stamping although there is plenty of ironing but I am not in the mood, I really want to put somthing in for the Winter Wonderland challenge.

I used my nesties and still working them out.

Double pocket bags

Here are the 3 together.
On this card I have used the spellbinders nesties on a card coordination white wash range that has just come out. the card has been embossed using a sissix plate then the raised area is rubbed down with a light sand paper for the blue colour behind the white to come out. I have stamped the message straight onto the card.

Gardening Tilda from the Magnolia range

Used here is a Messy Rabbit stamp from Joanna Sheen range.

Here are some double pocket bags I have made, the tutorial is at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/.
The difference I did was to use eyelets to secure the ribbon.
